Vickie Maley

Vickie  is a proud, new exhibiting member of the Island Art association in Fernandina Beach.  She retired from a thirty-six year career in education and moved to Fernandina, a favorite vacation location throughout her lifetime.  Before retiring, she fulfilled a lifelong desire to take art classes in oil painting.  Beginning in 2004, she studied oil painting with Cleda Curtis Neal, a professional portrait painter in Oran, Missouri.  While studying with Cleda, Vickie entered two local art competitions, winning awards in each.  She was also accepted for a week-long art and history workshop for educators at the Smithsonian Art Gallery in Washington, DC in 2010.  She currently focuses mainly on painting landscapes and seascapes.
