Palette Knife Painting with Sally Cummings

Mastery of the Palette Knife, Intermediate/Advanced Palette Knife Painting, January 13-15, 2022, $400

January 13, 2022 from 1-4:30 pm, break for dinner, return 6-8 pm coffee, water and sweets complimentary, BYO beverage of choice to enjoy during a presentation and discussion on palette knife painters from the past and present. January 15th and16th from 9:30-5:00pm

In this intermediate/advanced course, participants will further develop and hone their painting skills, zeroing in on mastery of the knife. Day 1 and 2 will be intensive study focusing on paint application techniques using only 2 knives to establish an effective impression of our subject matter. By day 3 you will begin to feel more confidence in your skills, allowing free exploration of your artistic voice as you work from your own reference. As always, I will provide easel-side encouragement and instruction when you begin to feel blocked. Oil and acrylic painters welcome!

Jenny Szaltis Watercolor Classes

Classes are held onThursdays from 9:30 until noon at the Island Art Association’s Education Center. The cost is $35 per class.$35.00 per class. Monthly enrollment is discounted to $94.00 per month and the second class to discounted to $66.00 per month.

Enrollment indicated that the POLICY and PROCEDURES have been read and agreed to.
All of Jennie’s classes are designed to be slow, easy, and moving at the student’s pace and interest.

Elio Camacho Workshops

Build a strong painting foundation and explore your passion for color with nationally known California colorist Elio Camacho! Students can work in either oils or acrylics.  Workshops are structured for both beginner to advanced students who want to develop their skill understanding and using color. Students will work from a floral still life that is set up by the instructor. The instructor will demonstrate his techniques, and provide easel-side instruction and critiques for students during the workshop.  Register online at colorrelations.com

Elio Camacho was born in Madeira, an island south of Portugal. Elio immigrated to California with his family when he was young. His paintings are in the Alla Prima style to capture the first impression and light on a given subject.

1 PM until 5 PM.  No registration required; just show up and enjoy working beside other artists.  $5 fee.

Free Children's Art Classes

Free Classes  for children are held one Saturday a month from 11 AM until 12:30.  Registration is required for each session.  The next scheduled classes are November 27 and December 18, 2021.

Fernandina Beach Photography Group

Membership is free to the public! Come join our monthly meetings with a guest speaker, and a monthly “Photo Challenge” (show and tell) of a theme decided in the previous meeting.

The group usually meets at 7 pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Art Education Center next to Island Art Association Gallery.
