Chris plays with vibrant color and pattern to create upbeat images that often tell a story. Using an expressionistic style and a variety of materials, she enjoys the research and problem solving that are integral to the creative process. “Discovering that unique solution to a challenging project is  energizing and rewarding to me”

Humor is woven into her acrylic paintings, mixed media, one-of-a-kind garments, wall hangings and fine crafts.

Significantly influenced by the lives and words of Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse, Henri Rousseau and Loy Bowlin (The Rhinestone Cowboy), she is always ready to experiment and let go of less successful projects.

Chris moved from Wisconsin to Fernandina Beach, Florida in 2016. Coastal life presented new inspirations to her work.

“I create art mostly because I enjoy the process. I like researching subject matter, continuous learning and sharing the party in my head.”
