Nouveau Art

What is Nouveau Art?

Nouveau Art  is a themed, juried show, occurring every two months, except for February, which is the Nassau County Student Show, and March, the IAA member show. It is displayed in the South Hall as a separate show from the exhibiting art in the IAA Gallery.

Any artist may submit 2 pieces per show. The fee for members to enter is $15 for one piece and $25 for 2.  For non IAA members, the cost is $25 per entry.

Prize money is awarded for Best of Show and first, second, and third places. A reception is held on the evening of the downtown Artwalk, which is monthly on the second Saturday evening.

Sundays on 2nd Artist Encounter

Sundays on 2nd is a monthly event at which participants have the opportunity to create a piece of art under the guidance of a professional artist.  There is no cost, all materials are provided, and any adult is welcome.  Registration is required as spaces are limited and classes are held from 2 until 4 PM in the Art Education Center at 18 N. 2nd Street.

Artrageous Artwalk

On the second Saturday of each month from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, participating galleries will remain open for your strolling pleasure.

Please drop by the Island Art Association on the second Saturday of each month to enjoy meeting the featured artist, great art, good conversation, light appetizers, wine and sodas.

*(FYI, if you are a supporting member and would like your artwork to be featured in the gallery for a month, a drawing is held each November to determine which artists will have that opportunity during the coming year.)

“In addition to beautiful beaches, Amelia Island is also known for upscale galleries and talented artists who call this Island home. Thus, Second Saturday Artrageous Artwalk was born.”
