Cubist Art with Gordon Parker

18 N. 2nd Street in the Art Education Center

Gordon has developed his own visual voice and recognizable style. His art themes focus on a process of deconstructing realism into simplistic stark dramatic shapes and colors. Similar to the process that lead Picasso and Braque to their cubism movement.  During this session, participants will create pieces of Cubist Art.

Cubism was a revolutionary new art approach to representing reality. This 20th-century style and movement in art made of simple geometric shapes, interlocking planes invented by artists Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque in 1907. This free class is limited  and reservations are required! To reserve your spot, e-mail Susan Colcord at [email protected]

We all seem to have a million photos capturing the moments of our lives. But if you’re interested in recording your experiences in a different creative way, then Art Journals are right for you. Join us for this short workshop with Gwen Cowart where we’ll discuss Art Journals, look at samples of different types, and then each make a small, nine page blank booklet so you can begin your own journal.

Participants are required to wear a mask. This free class is limited to twelve participants and reservations are required! To reserve your spot, e-mail Susan Colcord at [email protected]
